Your rigging questions answered!

The Cosmos Laundromat rigs are all but complete! Juan Pablo’s and Daniel’s work has been impressive, to say the least. And many of you have been asking…how did they do that???

Well, ask away this Friday at 4 pm Central European Time: BlenderNation will be hosting Project Gooseberry’s two riggers, Juan Pablo Bouza and Daniel Salazar, for a live AMA (“ask me anything”) on the new BlenderNation forum. This is your chance to get into the nitty gritty of setting up a animation-friendly rig and everything around that.

Want in? This thread will be unlocked on Friday at 4 pm Central European time (GMT +1). At that time you can start posting your questions and voting for the other people’s questions you most want to see answered (by liking them). The AMA will continue until 6pm CET, when the Gooseberry weekly livecast begins on our YouTube channel. So get your questions ready, and see you there!

    Hai
iam Harwin from Kerala, India, iam a rigging artist in Maya, recently i moved into Blender. so my question is…
    1. How can we achieve a good facial expression using a facial rig (using joints) or is there any other method (other than blend shape)?
    2. How can we avoid penetration in the skin while skinning, is it like adding a blend shape where penetration happens or is there any other method (like L brush in Maya )?
    Last but not least
Can you please provide a tutorial of the rig (image shown above).

    regards
    Harwin

Your rig is awesome. I want to know about the pivot bone functions. Does the bones work only with constraints or is it programmer’s work?
Also tell me more about the overcoat – spine IK constraints and functionality.
Expecting the full tutorial course soon

    Thanks
    Vasanth

The AMA, will it be conducted on every Friday 4 pm, or only on particular Friday’s?

        Hi Harwin,

It was a one-time thing! But the conversation remains open on Blender Nation if you’d like to continue the discussion. :-)
