Hello! A couple of weeks ago I got a new 24mm pancake lens for my camera and since then I’ve been annoying the entire team by frantically taking pictures of everyone and everything! :) I wanted to share some of them with you since we don’t usually show a lot of the day to day work that goes on here at the Blender Institute. Why? Well how interesting can it be… it’s just mostly people sitting behind screens:

: Work as usual. This is how it looks most of the time.

: Elysia interviews Julian Eisel for a blogpost update.

: The animation daily. Every day, the animators come together with the director to discuss the shots they’re working on.

: Hjalti at the animation daily.

: Beorn at the animation daily.

: Pablo and Manu discuss setting up shots for final lighting and rendering.

: Antonis tests multiview with viewport effects such as screen space AO and DOF.

: Sergey’s Bug-O-Meter makes sure we know how many bugs Blender has. Every… moment… of… our… lives.

: Julian and Ton disect a server rack module on the search for more memory.

: On the bleeding edge!

: Sarah suggests some animation tool improvements to Antonis.

: Mathieu has a short coffee break in the sunlight before he returns back to the editing cave.

: To regenerate our strength, we need hagelslag, the dutch secret weapon for burnt out workers.

: Lots of layout files!

: Ton fixes his own bike, like every honest dutchman.

: Francesco and Pablo discuss the next Blender Cloud improvements.

: Antonis takes some coding refuge by the window.

: An art review session taking place at Manu’s workstation.

: Pixel is Hjalti’s kitten. He visits us almost every friday.

: Martijn Berger, Pablo and Manu outside after the friday weekly meeting.

: The windmill is actually a brewery located close to the Institute, we go there almost every friday evening if the weather permits it.

: Team and guests enjoy a well deserved friday evening beer.

These pictures reinforce the perception that Blender has the strongest community in the open source world.

I dont know if matthieu looks everyday more like the character from the film or vice versa…

Fun to see the pics. Just gives a nugget of insight of the day-to-day. Glad to see it includes cats, espresso and beer too. :)

CONGRATULATIONS, MANY VERY SENSATIONAL OS you WORK, I QUIT WITH 3D IN 2010 AFTER MANY DECPÇÕES.
